• Art Deco Rocking Chair Fully Restored And Upholstered in Berry Red Harris Tweed

How cool is this? A 1930’s rocking chair with a very interesting and rare ‘full round’ design. I fell in love with the simple geometric lines so characteristic of the Art Deco era. The chair is very sturdy being made of solid oak. Small but extremely comfortable it has a sprung seat and is fully restored in berry red Harris Tweed.

  • Regency Period Rosewood Slipper Chair Beautiful Regency period easy occasional / bedroom chair in rosewood. Modest in size like many chairs of that era it has a solid frame and a rather lovely engraving of lotus flowers at the top section of the back. It stands on turned front legs and splayed rare and comes with loose squab cushion. We have carried out some repairs to the frame but you would expect that from a piece over 200 years old. Rosewood is special and characterised by dramatic changes to the colour and grain. It is therefore very distinct and sought after – it was given most protected status in 1992 and banned from export. When re-upholstering I decided to step away from a traditional look and instead allowed my imagination to run a little wild. I combined exclusive Alhambra velvet with two shades of Harris Tweed making the cushion reversible. The piece is beautiful and feminine making it an ideal bedroom chair.
